Vyan Nguyen
In her role as program officer at the Gary and Mary West Foundation, Vyan Nguyen, MD oversees the Foundation’s grant portfolios in support of its mission to lower the cost of healthcare to enable seniors to successfully age in place with access to high-quality health and support services that preserve and protect their dignity, quality of life and independence. Dr. Nguyen has spent more than ten years working closely with grantees and local and national partners to ensure the Foundation’s investments will have a strong and lasting impact on the community. Dr. Nguyen is a board director of Grantmakers in Aging and serves on the Governance Committee.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Dr. Nguyen worked at Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego in the Division of Developmental Services where she managed grants from the First 5 Commission of San Diego and helped build a network of coordinated services for children from birth to age five with developmental and behavioral concerns.
Dr. Nguyen received her Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego.
