Join representatives from the UC San Diego Health Jacobs Medical Center to discuss how the Geriatric Emergency Department (GED) model is used to provide evidence-based care for older adults. Multidisciplinary members of the emergency care team will share how the care they provide addresses the 4Ms: ‘What Matters Most’, ‘Medication’, ‘Mentation’, and ‘Mobility’, in addition to ‘Multicomplexity’ (the 5th M). This session will include a presentation and interactive discussion with opportunities to ask speakers questions for peer learning.
This session is designed for emergency department (ED) medical directors, ED physicians and clinical providers, ED nurses, ED nurse managers, ED pharmacists, ED case managers, ED social workers, other ED personnel, and hospital leaders. Representatives are welcome from hospitals interested in or pursuing GED accreditation or actively GED accredited.
