2018 Grantmakers in Aging Conference
On October 17, 2018, West Health joined The SCAN Foundation and Perry Communications Group at the 2018 Grantmakers in Aging annual conference to highlight the work of We Stand With Seniors, a nonpartisan, public awareness and education campaign to encourage California’s elected leaders and candidates for office to focus on the needs of seniors and implement policies that will improve the lives of all Californians. This campaign is designed to engage voters, advocates and policymakers to #StandWithSeniors and develop solutions to the growing challenges faced by California seniors, their families and caregivers in accessing high-quality, affordable healthcare, dental care and supportive services.
This lively panel discussion explored how citizens and organizations alike can drive efforts as we move toward developing a vision and long-term investment plan for aging that addresses the increasing need for senior-related healthcare and other supportive services, using California as a case study.
The campaign is part of a broader strategy among West Health, The SCAN Foundation and Perry Communications Group to elevate older adult issues, break through the media clutter and ensure gubernatorial candidates and policymakers prioritize these issues.
