About the conference

A lasting way to teach collaborative care.

APA and West Health are inviting a new cohort to the West Coast for two days built around one goal: giving programs a curriculum that outlasts the conference itself.

Sessions walk faculty and residents through the four-role CoCM structure, primary care provider, behavioral health care manager, psychiatric consultant, and patient, working off a shared registry. Faculty leave with a curriculum they can fold into their program permanently and residents leave ready to put it into practice.

2026 brought training directors, faculty, and residents from programs across the country to Scripps Seaside Forum for sessions, small-group work, and time to compare notes with peers doing the same work elsewhere.

Hearing about the challenges other institutions faced helped us avoid recreating the wheel.
